Caméscope professionnel HDV et DVCam, le modèle HVR-Z1 dispose d'un convertisseur vidéo 14bit HD DXP (Digital eXtrended Processor), ce convertisseur permet d'obtenir 4x plus de de données par rapport à un convertisseur 12 bit A/D, plus de finnesse, de richesse, des images aussi vraie que nature. Réglage manuel de l'Iris, Gain, Balance des blancs, et de la vitesse d'obturation. 2 entrées audio XLR avec une alimentation 40V phantom. Réglage du niveau audio indépendant. Viseur commutable noir et blanc et couleur. 6 bouttons assignables pour 6 fonctions utilisées fréquement incluant le Gain, AE Override, Balance des blancs.
